Meet the PEDICON 2027 Mascot – Kovai Gaja
The elephant has been chosen as the mascot of PEDICON 2027, Coimbatore for the values it beautifully represents — wisdom, strength, gentleness, care and a strong sense of family.
The choice also has a special connection with Coimbatore and the Western Ghats, a region closely associated with elephants and their natural habitat. Much like pediatricians, elephants are known for their protective and nurturing nature, particularly towards the young, making them a meaningful symbol for a conference dedicated to the health and well-being of children.
Our cheerful mascot brings these qualities to life. The white coat and stethoscope represent compassionate pediatric care, while the graduation cap symbolizes knowledge, scientific learning and the continuous pursuit of excellence in medicine. Its warm and friendly personality reflects the child-centric spirit at the heart of PEDICON.
Affectionately called “Kovai Gaja,” the mascot combines the identity of our host city — Kovai — with Gaja, the Indian name for elephant.
Kovai Gaja represents what PEDICON 2027 stands for: wisdom to learn, compassion to care, strength to protect and a shared commitment to building healthier futures for every child.
