Dear IAP members, greetings from the Organising Committee of PEDICON 2027 Coimbatore and Team Pedicon Idol 2027!
Welcome to PEDICON Idol 2027 — a musical night by paediatricians whose passion is also music. State and zonal rounds lead to the national spotlight at PEDICON in Coimbatore.
For PEDICON 2027 registration, delegates are requested to contact their respective State President, State Secretary or Zonal Coordinator.
Eligibility & General Guidelines
Only Life and Fellow Members of IAP may participate.
No age limit; a mixed competition for ladies and gentlemen.
No language restrictions. Participants may perform in any language; Hindi Bollywood songs are preferred.
Finalists shall register at Early Bird rates and arrange their own travel and accommodation.
Judges’ decisions are final and binding. Round deadlines are fixed and will not be extended.
Competition Rounds
State Round
Submission deadline:
Submit two audio clips (song mukuda and one anthra): one with karaoke and one without, through the participation form or WhatsApp to your State President/Secretary.
Each state selects three candidates for the zonal rounds.
Selection is overseen by the State President, Secretary and respective CIAP EB members, with music maestros chosen by the state team.
The State President’s decision is final.
Semifinals / Zonal Round
From
Three candidates from each state take part through live Zoom participation.
Five zones: East, West, Central, North and South.
The respective Zonal Vice President chooses the judging panel, including a music maestro who may be a non-IAP member.
The Vice President’s decision is final.
Grand Finale

Ten finalists — two from each zone — compete on the central stage with a full orchestra.
Distinguished national judges and renowned musicians judge the performances.
Finalists will be featured in event fliers.

Performance Rules
All zonal rounds will be held live on Zoom. Participants must present a complete song using their own setup, with a downloaded karaoke track ready and a stable internet connection.
A microphone connected to a laptop for vocals, with background music played through a quality sound system, is recommended. Participants may use any tested setup they are comfortable with.

A panel of three judges awards marks independently; scores are then compiled.
In a tie, judges may call for an additional vocal round without music.
In any dispute, the President’s decision is final and binding.
The top two contestants from each zone are invited to the Grand Finale.
