PEDICON 2027 Sports — Tournament Rules & Regulations

1. General

The Pickleball Championship will be conducted at PSG IMSR, Coimbatore, on 27 January 2027, with matches commencing from 7:00 AM onwards.
Participation is restricted to IAP Life Members. Fixtures, draws and schedules will be prepared by the Organizing Committee.
Each State IAP Branch may nominate a maximum of eight individual players, irrespective of the number of categories entered. Both members of a doubles team must be included within this quota.
Accommodation, wherever arranged, will be provided only to registered players on a sharing basis, subject to availability and applicable arrangements.

Men’s Singles — Below 50 Years.
Men’s Singles — 50 Years & Above.
Women’s Singles — Open.
Men’s Doubles.
Women’s Doubles.
Age eligibility for the 50 Years & Above category is determined as on 1 January 2027. Participants must have completed 50 years as on that date.
Valid Aadhaar Card/Proof of Date of Birth must be produced for age verification.
The Organizing Committee may modify, merge or withdraw categories depending on entries received.

Each participant shall represent only one State IAP Branch.
A player may participate in a maximum of two categories and must satisfy category eligibility while remaining within the State quota.
Each doubles team shall consist of two registered players. No substitute is permitted after the tournament commences.
The Organizing Committee may verify IAP membership, age and other eligibility details. Misrepresentation or rule violations may result in disqualification.

Every participating player must register through their respective State IAP Branch.
Each State IAP Branch shall compile and submit its final nominated player list to the Organizing Committee on or before 31 October 2026.
Registration shall include: full name, mobile number, email address, Central IAP Membership Number, State IAP Branch and category/categories.
Changes after the closing date, including doubles partnership changes, require prior approval of the Organizing Committee.

Players/teams must report to the designated court at least 30 minutes before their scheduled match.
Failure to report within 15 minutes of being called may result in a walkover being awarded to the opponent.

The format depends on the number of entries. Participants/teams may be divided into groups, with the top-ranked player/team from each group qualifying for the knockout stage.
League: one game to 11 points, win by two.
Semifinals and finals: best of three games to 11 points, win by two.
The Organizing Committee may modify the format, draw or scoring system based on entries and available time.

Matches shall follow the latest applicable USA Pickleball Rules/PWR Rules, with tournament-specific modifications wherever applicable.
Referees, umpires and match officials will be appointed by the Organizing Committee.
Players must comply with the decisions and instructions of match officials. The Tournament Referee's decision is final and binding.

Tournament-approved pickleballs will be provided by the Organizing Committee.
Players may bring their own pickleball paddles, complying with applicable USA Pickleball/PWR regulations.
Appropriate sports/pickleball attire and non-marking court shoes are compulsory.
Protective eyewear is recommended, particularly for doubles play.
Official PEDICON 2027 Tournament T-shirts will be provided to registered players.

Any protest must be submitted in writing within 15 minutes of completion of the match, along with a ₹1,000 protest fee.
The fee is refunded if the protest is upheld; otherwise it is forfeited. The Tournament Committee's decision is final and binding.

All participants shall maintain discipline, courtesy and sportsmanship.
Abusive language, threatening behaviour, physical misconduct and unsporting conduct will not be tolerated. Serious misconduct may result in warning, penalty, suspension or disqualification.

For interruptions due to technical issues, venue problems, weather, medical emergencies or other unforeseen circumstances, the Organizing Committee/Tournament Referee may resume, reschedule, replay or otherwise decide the match.
Participation is at the participant's own risk. Basic first aid and medical assistance will be available at the venue.

Conference registration for PEDICON 2027 is mandatory for all players participating in the Pickleball Championship.
Registered tournament players are eligible for the Early Bird Conference Registration Tariff, subject to applicable terms and conditions.

The Organizing Committee may amend or modify these rules in the interest of fair play, safety and smooth conduct of the championship.
Matters not covered by these rules shall be decided by the PEDICON 2027 Sports Committee/Organizing Committee.
